4/28 1:05 am - Nice intro. Audio of anchors and perhaps overall seems low. Make sure master levels are hovering around -3 db and maxing at -1 db. Nice energy of anchors. I like the energy of sports being anchored in your field house but at times the natural audio of the space interferes with the anchor, who does a nice job delivering sports.Volleyball package is well done. Nice imagery, good audio. Baton twirling package is interesting. Audio levels jump around a bit with the VO being low at first and then higher later. Banned book week is interesting and timely story. The librarian interview gets long at times. Maybe break it up a little. Pop culture update is interesting but consider a different setting to record your anchor instead of the library/media center. Nice energy among all anchors.
4/28 12:10 am - The strange blue background for the anchors is a little distracting. I know it's a school color, but hard to not focus on it. The first few stories seem a little frantic, no real producing here. Sports was already on less than two minutes into the show. In sports maybe use video and not simply use of OTS. Everything seems to just be cheering and congrats for everyone. I like the twirling story. It's a unique piece and a good job of storytelling. Maybe talk to a mom who also twirled. That angle could've been explored more. The banned book story was a nice touch and interesting. The producing of the show does show some creativity and different interest points which I really like.
4/17 11:06 am - Anchors are very lively- good personality! Sports anchor- nice idea to do it LIVE in a sports area. Might be able to use more graphics for sports- let us SEE those pictures and scores instead of just a small pic in the corner. This goes for during the time the anchors speak as well- use those thirds graphics while they talk so we can see as well. Volleyball and twirling stories were good! Story transitions could include more info from the reporter- they are very short and should include names of speakers and info we can learn from. Audio between reporter and banned book interview is very different- try to use the same audio source to equalize audio sound. "What's up West"- you transition to the same shot at the beginning- use b-roll to cover that up and avoid a transition to the same shot. The show featured LOTS of information that students need to know.
