An act from the Glenbrook South 2023 Variety Show featuring the Wonderland playing "Runaway to Wonderland."
Positives: -The zoom out to reveal everyone with the band was a great way to show creativity. -The sound was clear and fluid.
Improvements: -Each angle should have a purpose. If the band is doing something creative, seeing that from a wide shot high angle would be beneficial to the viewer opposed to a low side angle. -Adding in a variety of shots like a tight shot of someone playing an instrument would be a nice addition
Positives: Good use to different camera angles. Being there's a lot of performers, it's nice to not lose the faces of those on the sides of the stage and I think you did a good job and that.
Improvements: Instead of the static locked down shots, having a little bit of camera movement (i.e. slow pan/zoom of performers) would aid in the visual storytelling. The left high angle shot didn't seem to be horizontally balanced and a few the shots color balance could have been adjusted a little to compensate the bright lights on the performers.
Positives: - Sound was well mixed, which is no small feat with that many instruments on stage at once!
Improvements: - Would have liked some closeup camera shots of just one or two individuals - the moments where the young man came to the front and hit the triangle would have been a great moment for something like that! - Pace was a little slow on the directing - a fun, upbeat song like this calls for quicker cuts between your shots.
