  • 4/13 11:16 am - Keepers: This is a great piece celebrating the need for inclusion in our schools! Thank you for giving this great work a platform! I loved seeing the students with the AAC devices getting some screen time. That was a great way to showcase varying ways we all communicate. You had some great broll in there and the various interviews were all great! Improvements: I have one very important note: you should either caption the entire video or none of the video. To only caption the disabled students sends a bad message. It's considered ableist. Please understand that I'm not saying this in a mean or accusing way. I'm saying it so that you will learn moving forward. I'm the father of two disabled children and I'm learning more about these types of things every day! But captioning all or nothing will ensure that no one takes offense! The broll you shot needed to include the sound - particularly for the choir pieces. Let's hear that music! It helps bring the documentary to life and those sounds help carry the story to a bigger and deeper place. Sound in broll is just as important as the visuals, so don't be afraid to use them! The music got to be a bit redundant. Look for opportunities within a 5 minute documentary to use 2-3 different songs and choose songs that fit the mood of the story within that moment. That will give the piece additional emotional heft and help reinforce the story's mood.
  • 3/6 6:50 am - Good job shaping the material with so many interviews. The b-roll is effective in illustrating what the subjects are talking about. Graphics are very readable. Some audio issues.
