In a music video, it's often more effective for the director to visually tell a story rather than relying on text for the viewer to read. The slow pace of the song combined with the on-screen text could cause the viewer to become uninterested. Additionally, if using it text should appear on screen as the speaker is talking rather than in advance. The conversation doesn't create enough tension to lead up to the disturbing ending.
