A movie trailer produced and edited by Delilah Luna del Castillo.
Positives: This trailer for "Within" is cut to be more like a Teaser than a Trailer, which is not necessarily a bad thing. It does not provide much context for the narrative, but does work to draw the audience in and provide an intriguing glimpse. The trailer uses great visual language, pulling focus to foreground objects and displaying cast and crew members in a stylistic way - and the music/sound design is effective in building tension.
Improvements: Though the minimalism of narrative does work, the trailer could be improved by providing a little more context as to what to expect from the plot - possibly using well-written voice-over, or shooting elements that can help unlock clues for the audience.
Positives: excellent lighting and cinematography. There was definitely a dark vibe that showed throughout. Convincing main character. It teased us but didn't give too much away.
Improvements: the pacing of the editing was a little quick a little too early on. There wasn't much of a buildup because by halfway in, we're already at full tilt. Same issue with the soundtrack. It got too big too quick and ruined the reveal at the end. The reveal at the end could have gotten a little more love. I couldn't really tell what happened. But overall, it was awesome! Great Job!!!
Positives: The overall mood created by your project is very interesting and effective. You did very nice work with the handheld camera. Instead of detracting from your story it enhanced it. That was a good call on your part.
Improvements: Consider using lights that you can up instead of existing lights on the interior shots. Look at the shot at about 54 seconds. This is just before the main character enters the building. There is some modeling of light on her face. There are some very dark areas of the frame and highlights on the face. That contrast helps to build the suspense.
