Positives: This concept is a 10 million dollar idea. It's so fun and interesting and memorable. You could sell this idea TODAY to LEGO and they could make 15 commercials with this general concept. Excellent! The close up shots of the lego man are awesome (0:21). And I really like the shot of the houses on the wall (0:18). LEGO is the star of the commercial, and these shots support that very well. I can't tell if you did stop motion at a store or if you have an incredible green screen situation or CGI. Either way, the shots of the lego man are tv quality. Cat - My personal preference is that cats and dogs make commercials better. Put them in even if it doesn't have to do with the commercial.

Improvements: Small thing: You cut back to the human at 0:28 and I'm not 100% clear what is being told to me. The human kinda shrugs and goes back to looking at his own lego boxes. I can't tell what the human is thinking. I think it would be improved if it was very clear how he felt about this tiny lego man pushing box. Or maybe just cut the shrug. ideas: (close up) The human scratches his eyes and is way confused. Now we know this is NOT a typical thing to see at the store. idea 2: The human gives him a thumbs up. Now we know it's like "hey Bill! Love the new house!" And it's a normal thing to see tiny lego men walking around. The human shrugging didn't subtract from the commercial, I'm just not 100% sure what that meant. Sound: I'm going to be stickler here, and this could very well be just my opinion and not objective information... I think the sound was edited very well around the edits BUT I don't like about 50% of the music choices. The crashed house at the beginning was set to smooth jazz. It does work but I think there's a better song out there for this moment. Maybe something more depressing (sad bagpipes? sad violin? really slow piano?). Or maybe you don't even need music for the crashed house, just some more crashing noises or sad tones or silence? Later at 0:11 the music (I think) is a minor chord. This is the first uplifting moment when lego man is now on his exciting journey, and the music just has this slight feeling of sadness or danger or something is off. I love at 0:18 seconds when it cuts to the house and there is a major chord and it sounds happy and everything is going to work out. All of this goes into this question from me: WHEN are the exact moments of transformation? Is the transformation RIGHT when it cuts to the upbeat music? Or is the transformation right when he sees the house on the shelf? If it were me, I would want a very clear, very distinct before and after. Before, the house is in shambles. Then immediately now lego man is happy and on a mission. The good news: If you and me and four other people made this commercial together, maybe I'm the only one who wants a new song choice. If 5 out of 6 of us wanted to go with this song, I would be very happy and would have no problem sending this to our lego client. I have been on 200+ commercial sets (in front of the camera and behind the camera). Every single commercial had disagreements on the creative choices. Welcome to the commercial biz!

Positives: I thought this was a fun commercial. All of your technical elements worked well. The animation and the shots related to the Lego character are outstanding!

Improvements: I think if you are started with the mini fig walking into the store to purchase a Lego set you would of had everything you needed. Starting with the destructive cat was highlighting the inherent flaw of the product, its fragile. And while we can all relate it makes me less inclined to spend 25 or 50 dollars on a Lego set. Other then a shorter narrative I think it was extremally well done.

Positives: Overall - I love this - demonstrates really solid technical and storytelling ability - great work. - Really incredible production quality demonstrating a variety of skills: Camera work, lighting, stop motion, GFX, compositing, and more - super impressed and honestly surpasses the abilities of some of my peers. - The story has a clear beginning, middle, and end with a problem introduced and solved in a cute and memorable way.

Improvements: - I really enjoyed the track selection - but aside from the lego drop SFX at the top of the spot, we don't hear anything else - I would push to include more SFX, maybe even some dialogue queue's, perhaps just little "mmm's" and "ahhh's" from our little lego guy. - Minor note because I overall love the spot and am having a hard time finding bones to pick - with that said - I think the pacing could step up a bit, and the story could probably be told in 30 seconds.
