  • 4/27 9:51 am - This was a nice interview overall, the talent really gave some fantastic answers. The set design and introduction portion really helped set the tone. In terms of critiques, I would advise the interviewee / host to listen more and respond to the questions as they’re answered rather than sticking so much to the prepared questions. It felt a little like a checklist of questions and also made the host appear less than enthusiastic to be interviewing the musician. Enthusiasm is contagious so the host must adopt an enthusiastic personality. Also, bringing in additional b-roll would help move away from just the talking head. Overall, the switching, shots, and sound were all top-notch, just needs a bit more enthusiasm with the interview. Keep up the good work
  • 4/27 8:54 am - Well shot and well switched. Guest dominates a lot of the interview, host could interject more to break up the lengthy answers. Would have been nice to see some B-Roll of him or his band playing to get a sense of him as an artist. I know him playing gets teased for the next segment at the end but it would have been great to see some of that with the interview as well. Appreciate the conversation about music and shining light on up and coming artists.
  • 4/16 1:22 pm - This talk show was clean - no mistakes that I noted, the audio levels were good, the director chose good shots at the right time. Would have liked to have seen some b-roll of the bands he was talking about, but realize that video or pictures may not be available. The guest carried the show and didn’t give the host too much of an opportunity to interject any comments. Overall, a nice job.

Positives: Shot in a very polished way. Set and lighting also look great. Audio is excellent, impressive especially since both people were masked.

Improvements: Interview questions could use more structure.

Judge 2

Positives: Nice set and good lighting. The host did a great job with this interview - felt like they were prepared.

Improvements: What could you have added to this talk show in terms of b-roll? It definitely needed something to break up the monotony of the camera shots.

Judge 3

Positives: The host is very well prepared and asked insightful questions. He kept the conversation moving along even with the interview subject got a little ramble-y at times. The set, audio and lighting was all great. So glad we are past the need for masks on set now, but host stayed professional and spoke clearly despite this obstacle.

Improvements: Would have liked to see some b-roll during the interview. It can get stale switching between a 1-shot and a 2-shot. Some clips or even photos of Grant performing would have added a visual element. Some soft background music would have fit this segment and kept the upbeat feeling going.
