The trailer for the newest dramedy, "In The Doghouse". "In The Doghouse" follows the highs and lows of the friendship of Kelly and Ellie when Kelly offers to dogsit for Ellie. But things go awry when Kelly takes the dog for a walk...
Positives: "In The Doghouse" has great moments of comedy, and the concept as a whole is refreshing and simple. There were a handful of brilliant edits, such as the quick-cut "Rocky! Rock! Rocky!" sequence. The performers do a great job with the comedic elements.
Improvements: The camera-work and lighting could use improvement - there are several shots where the focus on the camera has racked to the background of the shot, rather than the subject - and some of the lighting is overexposed. The sound also seems to be peaking and could be recorded at closer distances.
Positives: The stuffed dog bit was hilarious. you teased it for just long enough and then hit a home run one liner. The talent seemed fairly convincing. Editing had decent pacing.
Improvements: Soft shots, missing sound, rough editing... This could have been thought out a bit more.
Positives: I'm impressed with the acting. Both characters were believable and fun to watch. The performances were very well executed. The story was humorous and entertaining. The editing/pacing was well done, especially when they discovered that Rocky was gone. The series of quick cuts was great. It emphasized the panic the actors were experiencing.
Improvements: Compare the color between the exterior and shots. Try to match the look. The colors of the interior shots are very rich. Most of the exterior shots have muted colors. The colors in these shots could be corrected to align with the interior shots.
