A friendly game of Clue goes off the rails.
Positives: 1. Beautiful camerawork. Not only do you have fundamental knowledge down, but your movements, insert shots, and focus were all some of the smoothest I've seen yet. 2. The beginning shot as a foreshadow was quite clever and an interesting point to come back to.
Improvements: 1. Your lighting was too dim, and you lost yourselves to the backgrounds quite often. Even an extra dim light to make sure we could see the background a bit more would have been helpful. You may have intentionally left it dark but it pulled me away and felt less natural. 2. Having the title play on both ends was not necessary. It would have been nice to see the beginning title play over the first shot of the dead hand on the floor.
Positives: - I really enjoy the animation of the title coming in. It flowed well with the editing. - The camera movement in here is really good. Not only does it create rhythm in the whole piece but it also allows the talent to move around the space and interact with the environment more.
Improvements: -When the lighting changes in between the scene I think it would've worked better with a jumpcut instead of a fade. This does add it's own challenges though. Getting framing right and the talent hitting the same mark consistently. - The blue hue that adds ambience could have been a little stronger. It felt slightly under exposed.
Positives: The story was a very creative idea. There was a wide variety of shots and transitions. The choice of shots helped to convey the mood and the story. The editing was well paced and kept the story moving.
Improvements: The story could have been further developed and it felt like the ending was rushed. The graphic for colonel mustard was great and could have been expanded upon for the other characters or could have benefited from a costume. The piece could have benefited from more focus on the lighting to add to the mood.
