A frustrated Perfectionist is trying to find his way. When his older peers reach out to bring him along he thinks he's found his way until things backfire. His saving grace comes from an unlikely source and they free him towards his next adventure.
Positives: 1. Using Zac Goodpseed at the end to give Sawyer advice and then Sawyer deciding against taking a photo of him shows his character growth, respect of privacy, and ability to not suck up to his classmates. Well done. 2. I like the camera conveys that Sawyer is obviously not apart of that friend group because we can see the separation through distance, insert shots, and even the actor's expressions.
Improvements: 1. There were a few editing hiccups where lines were out of sync or track skips occurred. Be mindful and always watch over finished products again before submitting to check for additional errors that may have occurred. 2. The audio towards the beginning in the classroom was all one track but from a seemingly unknown source. It would be better to have a range of voices or just use walla until the actual scene starts and fade into the voices over the walla.
Positives: - When writing a story there should be a theme and immediately - the delivery of the line "Dare to suck" is fantastic. Whoever wrote this- Great job. I can see the heart and the desire to be something. Keep writing. - When the actor hears the voices echoing in their head it is really well editing and directed to make us feel their insecurities through the frame. - sidenote: I really like the set photos. A lot of times it's not about the project that you are working on but the people that make filmmaking fun.
Improvements: - 1:33 "Oh No! Theres a boom in the shot!" - I wanted more use of dynamic lighting. It seemed like most lighting was done practically which is fine but this script is really solid and I feel like it could have been elevated with some mood.
Positives: There was a wide variety of camera shots and angles that gave a lot of depth to the piece. The lighting was great throughout the piece and added variety.
Improvements: There are several minor spots when switching between camera angles the audio doesn't line up with who is talking. There was a significant amount of buildup to the final message that the piece could have benefited from a longer conclusion/resolution to drive home the message.
