  • 4/25 1:09 pm - PROS - Lots of variety and coverage of unique locations like the WC and city of Petra. The coloring was consistently dynamic in most of your shots, from the dusk sky to the pool break to the Swoon footage. Most camera movement was smooth and the compositions were well designed and compelling (0:10, 0:14, 0:45, 1:15, 1:37 stand out). CONS - Image quality varied, with some jitteriness in the slow-mo shots and pixelation in the shadow areas of the low-key lighting conditions. Some of the designed lighting scenarios fell much flatter than the rest of your shots (0:47, 1:29). 1:46 needed a tripod. Overall very strong work. A few tweaks to some of your setups will push your camerawork to the next level.
  • 4/25 11:58 am - Beautiful shots, well-composed and frequently well-lit. Many, however, would benefit from a tripod in order to be less shaky. Good diversity of subjects show off solid use and understanding of camera and lighting fundamentals.
  • 4/17 4:54 pm - Excellent work in a variety of spaces, lighting, and environments. The use of focus, light, and movement is fantastic. Love the international opportunities you had and you captured them dynamically in found lighting. Great use of artificial light as well with the hype videos and more narrative work. Just make sure your movement is smooth moving forward as some of the shots are slightly distracting from your great composition

Positives: Good lighting.

Improvements: Limited variety of mood compositions, angles, and movements.

Judge 2

Positives: 1. Your use of lighting is phenomenal, both in color and in color temperature. You would do really well on a lighting crew. 2. You used a wide variety of shots that showcase your versatility. You showcase not only a wide variety of content, but also shot types. Everything from wide shots to close ups were used.

Improvements: 1. You seem to have trouble focusing to the right places. Many shots were not focused in the correct places, and some could have left more things in focus. In your birthday cake shot, the fingers would've been better to focus on than the front of the cake. In the shot of the lemonade on the beach, I would've liked to see you have a higher aperture so that more of the surroundings and background were in focus instead of just the can. 2. This reel is too long. There were many volleyball shots, pool shots, and aluminum can shots. I think only one of each of these would better showcase your ability, because some of the shots you left in actually contributed to the points i reduced.

Judge 3

Positives: I really like your shot variety here. It seems like you shoot a lot which is great. Always be making something. The ad for the lemonade looks really good. You have a really nice focus shift on the beach. The boom up of the person sitting is solid. Great movement, Great timing, and great feathering. Camera movement is like a dance with the talent and it can be really hard to hit marks in sync. favorite shot is the pancakes.

Improvements: :13 not sure if the cup was on a lazy susan or what you were using to rotate the cup. I want the turn to be a little smoother. The framing of the shot looks great with the bokeh in the background. The stickiness of the movement takes me out.
