A storied brand that never gets old: Tic Tacs come alive in this commercial
Positives: Nice work!! Overall great thinking to leverage the history of Tic Tac, while getting across the newness of it, flavor wise. 1 - I Think you demonstrate a rad variety of shooting styles, post effects, and playful illustration - which all combined make for a pretty visually engaging commercial. 2 - Same thinking for the edit - pacing feels nice!
Improvements: 1 - I think what I'd like to see more of is a reason to jump from old to new to old. I sort of understand it as a viewer - but it's screaming for some type of line to tie it all together. If the general thinking is something to the effect of an 'old brand that feels new', I would push you for a line that speaks to the idea to wrap this up. 2 - Super specific here - but I would suggest chopping out the second shot of the more modern TV, and just get straight into the product shots on black. When storyboarding and making edits to spots - Here's a question I try to ask myself: "if I lost this shot, would the spot/story still make sense?"
Positives: Your story is great! the text at the end sums it up really well. It seems to me like the story is: "Yeah yeah yeah, we know tic tacs are boring... NOT ANYMORE, we have a lot of fun new flavors that you should try! It will be fun" The editing speed is great. I think a fast paced edit goes really well with your concept.
Improvements: The shot at 0:06 needs a small adjustment. The tv stand and the room are brighter and more vivid than the tic tacs on the tv. You always want the product to be the most bright, most vivid thing whenever it is on camera. It's subtle, but very important in advertising. Similar issue at 0:22 - The product(s) is on a black background, but something seems slightly off to me. It's like 2% too dark and too shadowy. I wish the colors were slightly more clear and more vivid. The way your green logo looks at 0:23, that is how the product should look at all times on camera. Overly vivid and colorful.
Positives: I love the color play, it's fun and engaging! I really works to modernize a brand with history. The pace of the edit also added to the excitement.
Improvements: A few shots felt a little flatter than others both in terms of camera angle, diverse shots, and lighting emphasis. If each one of these packages is a lead "character" they all need equal attention.
